Protection Score checks the health of your online protection and provides simple steps to improve your security. Knowing how safe you are is the first step toward a safer life online.

Goal

Design a simple, digestible scoring system to:
• Quantify personal protection (similar to a credit score)
• Educate users on where their vulnerabilities lie
• Prompt meaningful actions that improve their digital safety
• Reinforce product value and retention

The Task at hand

Design a clear, credit-style protection score that educates users, drives safer behavior, and reinforces product value across all three company platforms keeping consistency.

Interviewing

We interviewed makers from various McAfee users to udnerstand their level of protection using McAfee as well as what cyberthreats they were knowledgable about.

Ideation

Workshops and sessions were made to discuss visual representation of scores found in common products.

4.

Prototyping and branding

Designs were made in accordance with company brand guidelines and color discussions on variance and status considered.

Cross-Platform

The feature had to be redesigned and re-architeced in multiple ways to allow for conistency on Desktop, Web, and Mobile.
